It's Official …. I'm leaving NYC

After thinking about it at some level for over a year, I have made the decision to leave NYC and head to SF! But first, I'll be traveling, and this blog is where I'll keep everyone updated and share what's going on and where I am in this journey. Sure, maybe a blog is a bit of an impersonal way to keep in touch, but it is easier than 25+ update emails. And at least a few people can attest to, I'm big on efficiency ;)

*Leaving NYC*
I am SUPER excited to be taking on this adventure. But I of course have torn feelings and am also very sad / nervous / overwhelmed.
I moved here after college and have now been here 7 years. I have made a great life here. I've gotten to experience SO much - restaurants, clubs, concerts, museums, adventures. I have created a great career and have an amazing work community. I have wonderful friends who care about me in NYC. I have my bestest friend, my sister Jackie, living here. So, I am walking away and leaving A LOT behind. And that is not lost on me. It scares me immensely.
But I'm also a big believer in No Regrets, and going after the life you want. I've noticed that I need change in my life. And I have the power to create the change. Who knows - I could be back. But I'm heading to SF in search of a different career, more balance, and greater access to the great outdoors.
P.S. I don't have a job in SF yet - so feel free to tell your friends I'm ready to get hired :) Seriously….

*Travel and the Timeline*
Over Thanksgiving, I'm going to Dubai to visit my sister Talia. On the way back, I'm meeting my best friend Jodi in Vienna for our fourth(?) honeymoon.
I'll be leaving NYC around 12/21 and heading to Florida for the Holidays.
Then, it is off to South America! I'll be traveling around until I get a job, or run out of savings. I'll be meeting another great friend for part of this round of travel - Lindsey will be in Argentina and Brazil for school in January, and I'll be meeting her and her B-School friends for at least part of the trip. I'm very open to meeting others in South America - So Plan a trip!!!

If I set this up correctly, you can register with the blog and get automatic email updates. And please email me, or Skype / FaceTime / Viber / Whatsapp me in the new year so I can keep up to date on everything. And seriously - plan that trip to South America. Or SF in the Spring. And if you have friends in SF, especially in marketing, put me in touch and pass along my resume!
